Абстрагируясь от данного конкретного случая, несколько мыслей по поводу ЖДА и тромбоза - анемия или железодефицит были замечены как факторы риска как церебрального венозного тромбоза:
METHODS : In a case-control design data of whole blood count and screening for thrombophilic coagulation abnormalities of 121 prospectively identified patients with CVT and 120 healthy controls were compared. Anemia was defined as a hemoglobin (Hb) concentration of <120 g/l in females, and <130 g/l in males, severe anemia as a Hb <90 g/l. Adjusted odds ratios (OR) were calculated based on a logistic regression model treating variables with a level of significance of p < or = 0.2 on univariate analysis as potential confounders. RESULTS : Thrombophilia (OR 1.22, 95% CI 1.07-1.76, p < 0.01), severe anemia (OR 1.10, 95% CI 1.01-2.22, p < 0.05), and hypercholesterinemia (OR 1.21, 95% CI 1.04-2.57, p < 0.05) were the only independent variables associated with CVT on multivariate analysis. Почему данная патология в основном присуща женщинам, а не мужчинам - конечно же ЖДА чаще бывает у женщин, но также женщинам присущи более высокая активация свертывающей и антикоагулянтной систем, а при кроверазведении (анемической гемодилюции) происходит сдвиг в сторону прокоагулянтного потенциала (примерно напоминающее то, что бывает при беременности).
Не следует забывать и то, что при анемии (плюс/минус тромбофилии, подтвердить/исключить которые не представляется возможным в данном случае) может быть одновременное тромбообразование и в артериальном и венозном руслах, так что момент истины данной дискуссии может быть где-то посередине...

Simultaneous thrombosis of cerebral artery and venous sinus.

Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is infrequent among cerebrovascular diseases. The simultaneous thrombosis involving both cerebral artery and venous sinus is even extremely rare. We reported a 41-year-old woman who presented with acute headache and left hemiparesis due to concomitant arterial ischemic stroke and recurrent CVT. Extensive investigation disclosed acquired protein C and protein S deficiency, iron deficiency anemia (IDA) and cryoglobulinemia. She was treated with intravenous injection of heparin followed by oral anticoagulant therapy. The headache rapidly subsided; however, left hemiparesis persisted over five months.
