Conclusion Climatotherapy at the Dead Sea is an effective treatment modality for vitiligo. Disease duration and severity, as well as length of treatment, were the main factors found to favourably influence the clinical response. Dead Sea Climatotherapy (DSC) has proven to have an excellent healing effect in the treatment of psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.10,11 Although evaluation criteria used were not similar to those commonly found in other studies, DSC showed better results (85.3% of patients with any level of repigmentation), than those obtained with NBUVB, as reported in the literature. In addition, it would appear that the repigmentation reached by the end of the treatment was preserved and continued to increase after leaving the Dead Sea. However, this point will need to be verified in a larger cohort of patients in the future. It may be concluded that DSC is an effective treatment modality for vitiligo, with relatively few side-effects.
